Student Administrator

Location: Henley-on-Thames
Salary: £15,601.43 (£25,104.00 FTE)
Contract Type: Permanent, 27.5 hours per week, Term Time Only (38 Weeks)
Working Hours: 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday

About the Role

The Henley College is seeking an organised, proactive, and student-focused Student Administrator to join our Administration team. This is a key role supporting students, staff, and visitors across the College. You’ll be involved in a wide range of administrative tasks, including sensitive and confidential matters, helping to ensure the smooth running of daily operations and contributing to the welfare and success of our students.

Administration Duties
  • To provide administrative support to staff and students of the curriculum area within the college
  • To manage in-person and telephone enquiries from students, staff, parents, employers and local schools
  • To support pastoral care of students within the college
General Office Management
  • Record and log curriculum area staff absences and update HR on a regular basis
  • Assisting auditors when required
Data Input
  • Changes to student programs
  • Updating contact information
  • Logging absences

To provide administrative support where required for example in other departments at critical points such as during enrolment and exams. To provide cover for Administrators and Receptions across both sites as required.

Reception Duties

To provide first point of contact for visitors, staff and students at either site.

The effective day‑to‑day management of Reception to include:

  • Maintaining and managing photocopiers where required
  • Maintaining and managing the stationery supplies where required
  • Administer the print/copier credit for students
  • To take bookings in either Reception for meeting rooms
  • Administer mini bus bookings
  • Reserve parking spaces on request from staff, and allow visitors access through the barrier
  • To be responsible for the sorting and delivery of post to staff either directly or via pigeon holes
  • To provide a safe place for students
  • Any other duties as required
About You
Essential
  • Previous administration experience.
  • Educated to Level 3.
  • Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and databases.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including experience working with the public/supporting students.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team and the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach in a busy environment.
  • Experience communicating with young people.
Desirable
  • Experience working to tight deadlines.
