Job description
SCM Supervisor – Practitioner Psychologist (North London NHS Foundation Trust)

A vacancy at North London NHS Foundation Trust.

The SCM Supervisor – Practitioner Psychologist role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified practitioner psychologist with a strong interest in working with service users with Complex Emotional Needs. You will work alongside other SCM practitioners to implement SCM within the Core teams across Enfield and Haringey. The role offers direct clinical work including assessment, formulation and treatment in both group and individual settings. You will lead on the implementation of SCM within Enfield and Haringey, providing support and supervision to SCM Practitioners. The role also offers training and consultation to other healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Clinical Practice: Direct clinical work with CEN population across Enfield and Haringey. Assessment, formulation, treatment in individual and group settings.
  • Risk assessment and management within the SCM pathwayli>
  • Provide SCM supervision to clinicians individually and in groups.
  • Provide in‑house SCM training.
  • Collaborate with service users to enable them to be partners in care.
  • Conduct SCM assessments including mental health and risk assessments, psychological formulation and care planning.
  • Deliver 1:1 and group SCM sessions in conjunction with other practitioners.
  • Act as a named worker for allocated service users, practising with autonomy.
  • Make onward referrals and signpost to additional services (VCSE, neighbourhood services, etc.) to provide holistic support.
  • Participate in MDT discussions and develop relationships with other agencies.
  • Provide advice and guidance to team members on SCM.
  • Attend and participate in SCM supervision and individual clinical supervision.
  • Participate in other clinical duties as appropriate.
  • Supervision/Teaching/Consultation: Support and supervise SCM Practitioners across Enfield and Haringey.
  • Support the wider MDT regarding CEN population through consultation and training.
  • Service Development: Audit and evaluation of SCM across Enfield and Haringey.
  • Lead implementation of SCM within core teams with support of Head of CEN and senior leads.
  • Research and Development: Monitor, evaluate and modify individual and group interventions to measure progress and effectiveness.
  • Participate in data collection, audit and research as required.

Administration: Maintain high standards of clinical record keeping, electronic entry, report writing, and professional governance in accordance with professional codes.

You will be required to travel between St Anne’s Hospital (Haringey) and Chase Farm Hospital (Enfield). In order to meet the needs of the Trust, you may be required to work at different locations within Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, or Islington.
