Job Title: Structural Integrity Engineer
Type: Full Time
Location: Derby, Raynesway
We are currently seeking talented Engineers to join the Plant Structural Integrity department at Rolls-Royce Submarines. As a structural integrity engineer, you will primarily engage in assessments including primary strength, fatigue, fatigue crack growth, and fracture assessments, in accordance with ASME III and R6 defect tolerance codes. You will support a variety of programmes, from in-service support to new build and future initiatives.
You will also build and maintain Finite Element Analysis models to extract stresses, supporting the justification of components. The role is diverse and dynamic, requiring rapid responses to emergent challenges, providing vital support to the Submarines enterprise.

Essential: Degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, physics, or mathematics; ability to manage multiple projects; demonstrated interest and expertise in structural integrity analysis.
Desirable: Knowledge of failure mechanisms; experience with finite element methods (preferably Abaqus); familiarity with industry standards such as HyperMesh; experience in safety-critical industries; membership or working towards chartership in a relevant professional institution.
