Overview

Our client, a leading player in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Structural Integrity Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Derby. This role involves supporting crucial nuclear programmes, including UK Submarines, and ensuring the integrity of both existing and new nuclear establishments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting various nuclear programmes by providing structural integrity expertise
  • Conducting finite element analysis and complex structural integrity assessments
  • Producing technical documentation, including calculations and reports
  • Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Taking responsibility for projects from inception to completion
  • Ensuring project delivery meets time, quality, and cost objectives
Job Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in the nuclear sector (design, analysis, technical substantiation) is desirable
  • Experience in performing complex structural integrity assessments (including Fatigue, Fatigue Crack Growth, and Fracture assessments)
  • Familiarity with relevant codes such as ASME III and R6
  • Experience in delivering technical projects and services
  • Proficiency in producing key technical documentation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Security clearance (SC) is required for this role
