Job summary

A leading Aerospace Engineering organisation is seeking a Stress Engineer in Uxbridge to perform stress and structural analyses on design projects. The role requires a degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering and a minimum of 24 months' experience, ideally in Aerospace or Defence. The successful candidate will work with top engineers and be responsible for documentation and supporting project delivery. This position offers a salary between £35,000 and £50,000 plus a corporate package.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level within Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Minimum 24 months of commercial experience in Aerospace or Defence sector.
  • Proficient in the use of FEA software ideally ANSYS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform stress and structural analyses to ensure integrity and performance.
  • Analysis of new and existing systems including hardware and charge structure.
  • Deliver key project documentation including structural analysis and test plans.

As a Stress Engineer you will be responsible for performing stress and structural analyses to ensure the integrity and performance of the design meets all required standards so a strong mathematical emphasis is required. You will benefit from working with some of the best Engineers in the UK focussed on truely unique products that continue to be used globally within the Aerospace sector. As a Stress Engineer your key responsibilities will include - + Analysis of new and existing systems which may involve, hardware and propellant charge structure analysis, CFD and thermal analysis. + Responsible for hardware and charge analysis including finite element analysis modelling, calculation of safety factors. + Analysis of material testing and providing advice to the technical community. + Responsible for the structural performance technical authority aspects of assigned projects, including supporting project customer meetings, project investigations, design reviews, and corresponding customer stress engineers. + Deliver key project documentation including, structural analysis and structural test plans and reports and structural design records. + Contribution to qualifications report + Identify risks and issues that may impact delivery, including time, quality and cost, and communicate solutions with the Design Manager.
