Description

The Street Works Coordination and Permitting Officer (PO3) plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution and management of street works within our municipality. This position requires a skilled individual who is able to assess, coordinate, and permit all street-related works to minimize disruption to the community while maintaining the integrity of our road network. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including contractors, utility companies, and local government departments, to ensure compliance with regulations and standards. This role also involves monitoring ongoing works, evaluating traffic impacts, and addressing concerns raised by residents. The Street Works Coordination and Permitting Officer will be responsible for processing permit applications, conducting site inspections, and implementing strategies to enhance safety and efficiency in street management. A keen understanding of street work regulations, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure are essential for this position. Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports on street works activities, including statistics on permits issued and ongoing projects.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to street works policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, urban planning, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in street works coordination, permitting, or a related area within municipal services.
  • Strong knowledge of street works legislation and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions quickly.
  • Proficiency in using software applications for permit management and reporting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to prioritise multiple projects effectively.

Pay Per Hour: £26.26
