Job description

Street Cleansing Operative

Industry: Infrastructure

Location: Isle of Wight

Hours: 40 hours per week, 5/ 6.00am - 1.30/2.30pm.

Days: 5 days from 7 on a rota basis

Duration: Temporary Ongoing

Responsibilities

• Emptying public rubbish bins including dog waste.
• Litter picking.
• Clearing pavements, paths, drains and gullies of green waste.
• Weed removal.
• Vehicle checks and reporting maintenance.
• Adherence to health and safety and highways regulations.
• If HGV driver, may also be required to drive and operate road sweepers, tankers/pumps and water jets.

Experience & Requirements

• Must have full clean driver’s license with a good awareness of health and safety.
• HGV Class 2 license is an advantage, as is drainage experience.
• Must be physically fit due to nature of duties.
• Must be able to work well as part of a team and on own initiative, outside, in all weathers.

Salary

£12.21 per hour worked. HGV £13.04 per hour worked.
