Overview

Our leading public sector client is seeking a dynamic Head of Strategic Planning & Governance to lead a high-impact portfolio spanning corporate planning, risk, equalities, information governance, complaints, and malpractice. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Corporate Services, you'll provide strategic assurance to the Executive Team and Board, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and ISO standards.

Responsibilities
  • Manage specialist teams, drive continuous improvement, and act as Fraud Response Officer during sensitive investigations.
  • Provide strategic assurance to the Executive Team and Board, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and ISO standards.
  • Oversee corporate reporting cycles, equalities mainstreaming, FOI and data protection responses, and lead on malpractice investigations with tact and authority.
  • Distill complex legal and governance issues into clear, actionable advice for senior stakeholders.
  • Engage with stakeholders to support governance, risk, and compliance objectives across the organisation.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven experience in governance, risk, and compliance at senior level.
  • Budget management and influencing skills.
  • Exceptional leadership with the ability to engage stakeholders and drive strategic outcomes.
  • Strong ability to distil complex legal and governance issues into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Experience with information governance, FOI, and data protection responses is desirable.
