Exciting opportunity for an experienced SEA Consultant / Senior to join this leading multi-disciplinary global consultancy to work on a range of exciting projects across the UK.

My client is a leading sustainability consultancy combining energy, climate change, environmental and chemical risk expertise with strong IT and economics capability.

Operating across the globe, they work in partnership with their customers to help transform the way they work, empowering business leaders with award winning consultancy advice.

My client offers unrivalled sector insight and a reputation for producing innovative solutions, offering a stimulating and rewarding environment in which to work.

They are looking for an experienced Consultant / Senior Consultant to join their Planning and Infrastructure team within their reputable Water Practice.

You will be involved in a variety of exciting infrastructure projects, including some of the biggest strategic resource options in the UK.

You will also play an integral role in the continued growth and success of the Water practice and wider business.

You will lead and manage your own projects, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and deliver all aspects of consultancy from tendering, budget control, leading projects, generating new business and nurturing existing client relationships.

Although, this role will sit within my client’s Water Practice, you will provide environmental assessment work across all practice areas.

Location

The role can be situated from one of my clients following offices, Bristol, London, Manchester or Oxfordshire

Ideally You Will Have The Following
  • Proven professional consultancy experience
  • Experience of project management and budget control
  • Experience of leading teams on projects and tasks
  • Proposal writing and winning public and private sector consultancy projects
  • Client management and business development expertise
  • Experience in negotiating with planning authorities, regulators and stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A proactive and enthusiastic person who is ready to support junior members of the team
Responsibilities / Accountabilities

You will work with consultants across my client’s business who are recognised nationally and internationally for their specialist skills and expertise.

Within the water sector their positive reputation has seen the team win a large quantity ofenvironment-related frameworks for water companies across England and Wales.

Day to day, you could expect this role to involve :
  • Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) work, particularly for UK Water companies
  • High-level environment and planning advice to public and private sector clients
  • Project management
  • Development of new and existing work streams and clients

These are just a few examples of the role responsibilities and work we are currently delivering.

You will be an experienced consultant, with an environmental assessment or town planning degree or post graduate qualification and ideally working towards or with chartered status (RTPI, IEMA).

You will also possess in-depth practical working knowledge of the UK planning system and consenting process including the SEA regulations.

Experience of SEA and Sustainability Appraisal is required, and experience in the water sector is desirable.

You will have strong technical ability with experience in the management and delivery of SEA documentation as well as a track record of business development, winning work and client management.
