Overview

We are now looking for a Strategic Buyer to play a key role in strengthening our supply chain and driving procurement excellence across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Sourcing, negotiating, and building strong supplier relationships to ensure best value and performance.
  • Managing tenders and supplier agreements, from initial quotation through to implementation.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to qualify BOMs and sourcing requests.
  • Performing spend analysis and developing effective sourcing strategies.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and reporting on supply chain risks.
  • Supporting the wider purchasing team and resolving escalations when needed.
  • Leading procurement projects and driving continuous improvements.
  • Maintaining accurate supplier and system data, including new and amended requests.
  • Taking full ownership of the procurement action plan to deliver measurable results.
About you
  • Qualified in Procurement/Supply Chain (CIPS or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a strategic buying/procurement role (minimum 3 years).
  • Direct buying experience.
  • Strong background in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled in contract negotiation, tender management, and supplier development.
  • Comfortable analysing complex data and creating clear sourcing strategies.
  • Experienced in ERP systems (knowledge of Protean would be an advantage).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels.
