A healthcare recruitment agency seeks a practitioner for a role focusing on stopping smoking in pregnancy at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. The successful candidate will provide holistic care and manage clinics delivering Nicotine Replacement Therapy. Required qualifications include registration as a midwife with relevant experience, plus a valid UK driving license. This position supports the Trust’s Tobacco Control Strategy and offers opportunities for professional leadership and development within midwifery services.
The post holder will act as a practitioner providing expert care in relation to stopping smoking in pregnancy whilst being responsible for supporting the Trust’s delivery of the Tobacco Control Strategy. He/she will continually develop and review Stop Smoking Services within the maternity setting ensuring high standards are attained, in line with best available evidence. He/she will provide professional leadership within midwifery services, providing specialist knowledge whilst working collaboratively with staff and liaising with clinical leads, supporting, educating, motivating and monitoring progress within the area of smoking cessation.The post holder will develop and manage clinics providing Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT), support and advice to patients/clients in a safe, effective, efficient and holistic manner, ensuring positive outcomes for the mother, child and families during pregnancy and beyond. He/she will be expected to work across both the hospital and community settings.
