A leading healthcare provider in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Sterile Services Technician. This flexible role involves the maintenance and supply of surgical instruments, ensuring high standards of healthcare and patient safety. Candidates should have GCSE education and basic computer skills; no prior experience is necessary as training will be provided. This position requires adaptability due to varying shift patterns including weekends and on-call duties.
Vacancies have arisen for the position of Sterile Services Technician working at Royal Stoke Hospital, with cover also available at the County Hospital, Stafford as required. This is a fully flexible role and shift patterns may be changed at short notice.
University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. This aligns with UKVI guidelines and legislation as the roles do not meet the skill or salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you may apply; however UHNM cannot offer sponsorship at the end of the visa, and you must have at least six months remaining before expiry at the start of employment for training and operational reasons.
Pay scale – Band 2 with enhancement pay after 20:00 hours as per Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
The successful candidate will be introduced to an environment which is practical, busy, and offers a valuable part of the Health Service for North Staffordshire. The Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit services include the supply and maintenance of surgical instruments, including flexible endoscopes used in surgical and medical procedures. Items are checked in after use, cleaned, disinfected, packaged, sterilised and delivered back to operating theatres, wards, departments, clinics and GP surgeries.
