A vacancy has arisen for the position of Sterile Services Technician working at Royal Stoke Hospital, cover will also be provided at County Hospital, Stafford as required.
This is a fully flexible job role and shift patterns may be changed at short notice.Shift Patterns:
Predominantly working core shifts of - 14.00 HRS TO 22.00HRS Monday through to Sunday with a day off in the week. Cover for all shifts will be arranged on an adhoc basis.
Weekend working is incorporated within working hours, and will be between 08.00hrs - 20.00hrs on a Saturday and Sunday between 08.00hrs - 23.30hrsOn call and Bank Holiday working on rota are essential.Pay scale - Band 2 plus enhancement pay after 8.00pm as per Agenda for Change terms and conditions

The Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit services include, the supply and maintenance of surgical instruments including flexible endoscopes used in surgical and medical procedures. These items are checked into the department after use, then they are cleaned, disinfected, packaged, sterilised and delivered back to operating theatres, wards, departments, clinics and GP surgeries.
Applicants should be educated to GCSE level and have basic computer skills as the position involves daily use of a pc. You will be required to read small letters on instruments and follow written instructions. There will be a short test as part of the interview process and a full tour of the unit will be given. No experience is necessary as we will train you.
The successful candidate will have high standards, show a genuine interest in healthcare and patient safety, and be able to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.
