Job description

We are seeking a Steel Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join the team on a full-time basis, supporting structural steelwork projects from tender stage through to delivery. This role would suit a motivated and driven individual who is keen to develop their skills and take on increasing responsibility within a growing structural steelwork function.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: West London

Work Hours: As required, typically 08:00 - 17:30

Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Package: Salary with expenses

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates for structural steelwork projects
  • Assist with estimating, pricing, and routing of works
  • Support quantity surveying duties where applicable
  • Help oversee steelwork projects from a commercial and operational perspective
  • Work closely with the steelwork department to support project planning and delivery
  • Monitor costs, variations, and project spend
  • Assist with equipment oversight related to structural steelwork operations
Requirements
  • Previous experience in estimating
  • Some exposure to quantity surveying is preferred but not essential
  • Strong drive, initiative, and a proactive approach to work
  • Desire to develop professionally and grow within the role
  • Good understanding of structural steelwork projects and processes
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and support a busy department
  • Good communication and organisational skills
