What this job can offer you

As a Staff Product Designer on the Pay Ecosystem Product Design team, you will join a 40+ multi‑disciplinary team of designers and creatives passionate about crafting experiences that help Remote scale successfully. The payroll team is a strategically important and high‑profile group, and you will tackle complex, tangible challenges that require research, strategy, concepting and elegant execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all design work for your domain, making strategic UX decisions related to core features, and driving initiatives for future functionality.
  • Mentor teammates, give and solicit feedback, and help raise the team’s design maturity.
  • Partner with cross‑functional partners and stakeholders to understand customer needs, generate ideas, validate solutions and implement to the highest standard.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and present solutions to the broader creative team.
  • Create user flows from low‑fidelity wireframes to pixel‑ready designs that deliver intuitive experiences.
  • Contribute to the design system, lead cross‑domain initiatives, and facilitate design workshops.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to build scalable, polished components and maintain parity between design and code.
  • Leverage AI prototyping to explore concepts and iterate with peers.
  • Champion usability, scalability and accessibility and uphold our experience principles.
  • Advocate quality, shape ways of working and provide peer support across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Individual contributor designer with exemplary experience designing, evolving and innovating user interfaces.
  • Empathy for enterprise users and ability to apply user‑centered design at scale.
  • Impeccable portfolio that demonstrates holistic, scalable systems and mastery of visual & interaction design fundamentals.
  • Champion consistency and systematic design while knowing when to innovate.
  • Masterful communication skills to build strong narratives, guide others and collaborate with cross‑functional teams – fluent written and spoken English.
  • Comfortable in a high‑growth, fast‑paced environment and able to autonomously manage complex domains and multiple projects.
  • Effective cross‑functional collaboration and ability to build consensus and drive impactful outcomes.
  • Respected voice influencing design system, product experience, quality, culture and ways of working.
  • Prefer candidates with experience designing complex B2B SaaS solutions for HRTech, FinTech, etc.
  • Embodies and demonstrates Remote’s core values.
  • Experience working remotely is considered a plus.

Base salary range for this full‑time position: USD 68,500 to USD 154,100. The exact base pay depends on location, transferable or job‑related skills, work experience, training, business needs and market demand.
