Job Overview

We are looking for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join a friendly, supportive and experienced team at Pierce Ward, a trauma and orthopaedic ward that provides high quality care to patients from admission through to discharge. The role is a permanent contract, full or part time, with opportunities to develop new skills and advance your career. Staff work in line with the trust values: Everyone Matters, Making A Difference, and Working Together. We welcome both experienced and newly qualified nurses, and we look for candidates who are motivated, enthusiastic and keen to learn about orthopaedics.

Responsibilities
  • Work in accordance with the RUH Nursing Strategy and contribute towards achieving its objectives.
  • Take responsibility for the assessment of care and health education needs of patients.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care, including discharge planning for each patient.
  • Act as a facilitator, mentor, preceptor or role model to less experienced staff.
  • Maintain effective communication and participate in clinical supervision.
  • Gain experience and skills in clinical practice, facilitation and teaching, and management as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Current right to work in the UK.
  • Compliance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker (with facilitation) for a defined group of patients.
  • Motivation, enthusiasm and eagerness to learn orthopaedics.
