Job Description

We're looking for a Staff Nurse to join the Paediatric Neuro-rehab & Complex Care team at the Portland Hospital. The Portland Hospital is the UK’s only private hospital dedicated to the healthcare needs of women and children, and cares for more than 40,000 children every year. We have a spacious, modern 13-bed inpatient neurorehabilitation and complex care unit, equipped with the latest technology and treatment, supported by a team of paediatric consultants.

The successful postholder will work as a skilled member of the nursing team, providing a high standard of holistic family-centred care to children, young adults and families. You will work to promote continual improvement of patient care through research, evidence-based practice and the development of additional clinical skills in the speciality.

Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic family-centred nursing care to children and young people with neurorehabilitation and complex care needs.
  • Work within the nursing team to deliver high standards of care and participate in ongoing quality improvement, research and evidence-based practice.
  • Collaborate with paediatric consultants and multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient care.
  • Maintain a safe and effective care environment, adhering to hospital policies and safeguarding requirements.
  • Develop clinical skills and contribute to the continuous development of the department.
Qualifications
  • NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support
  • Minimum 6 months' experience in Paediatric Neurorehabilitation and complex care in a hospital setting
  • Experience with tracheostomised patients is desirable
  • Understanding of safeguarding issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
