An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Neurosurgery team in Ward 66 within the Institute of Neurological Sciences at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Shift pattern: Monday - Sunday, Days & Nights
The Department of Neurosurgery delivers pioneering procedures and care as part of the Regional Services for the West of Scotland. We are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic Registered Nurses to join our team.
Our service comprises three 22‑bedded wards providing both emergency and elective neurosurgical and spinal care as part of the Neuroscience Service for the West of Scotland.
All staff will be supported by our dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator for Neurosciences and will undertake an in‑house competency‑based training framework, complemented by university‑accredited courses to support professional development.
You will work 12‑hour shifts to provide 24/7 service coverage.
Applicants must be Registered Nurses. Experience in neurosurgical nursing is desirable but not essential. You should demonstrate a commitment to patient‑centred care, continuous professional development, and an understanding of our service and the specific needs of our patients or a willingness to learn and develop these skills.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
