Job description

We are seeking a NMC registered nurse to work within our Endoscopy team at Southend Hospital. With a firm belief in education you will be supported in your nursing development with an open door policy to the senior sister so you know you can always rely on having an ear to discuss your future and progress.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic, high‑quality, individualized patient care respecting patient dignity and beliefs while maintaining a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff.
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, other departments, patients, relatives and visitors.
  • Act as a mentor to students and newly qualified staff, teaching and assessing within their competence and upholding evidence‑based practice.
  • Assist with ward budget management, ensuring appropriate stock levels and addressing any shortfalls.
  • Support senior staff with service development, implement relevant policies, and contribute to the overall formulation of long‑term strategic plans.
  • Identify strategies for increasing patient demand whilst maintaining clinical effectiveness and a professional profile.
  • Continuously develop skills, knowledge and competencies, adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust policies and procedures.
