A leading university in the UK is seeking Student Ambassadors to assist with recruitment and outreach activities. This role allows for flexible hours to fit around your studies, perfect for enhancing employability skills. Candidates will support various promotional activities and are encouraged to apply if they have relevant experience or are passionate about outreach work.
Student Recruitment and Outreach (SRO) Student Ambassadors support the University's recruitment and outreach work on an ongoing basis, including activities in local schools and colleges, UCAS fairs, creating content for our social media and website, Open Days, and much more!
This is an ongoing, casual role, where you apply for the shifts that interest you and fit around your other commitments - it is a great way to top up your income by a few hours each month and develop your employability skills and CV.
The SRO team works with a number of partner schools and colleges across the UK (especially around East Sussex, Essex, Kent, London, Hampshire and Surrey) so there may be opportunities for students interested in participating in recruitment activities in areas close to home.
For more information about what the role of SRO Student Ambassador entails please visit the links below: Read about what the role of SRO Student Ambassador entails. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we will be prioritising applications from certain course groups due to gaps in our current ambassador pool. Please note: as this role has an interview and training process which takes some time, we usually look to recruit students who have at least 12 months left on their university course (undergraduate or postgraduate). We will, therefore, be prioritising applications from certain year groups, but we will accept applications from final year and PG students too.
As part of the Ambassador Scheme, we offer guaranteed interviews to students in receipt of a scholarship and students who are care experienced. You are not required to disclose these details, however, if you feel comfortable sharing this information with us, please include 'Scholarship' or 'Care Experience' in the 'additional comments' section of your application. You do not need to provide any further information.
Successful applicants will be invited to an interview consisting of a group presentation activity and individual interview. If you are invited to interview and are interested in content creation work for the team, you will also be asked to complete a short task consisting of a vlog. We expect to conduct in-person interviews for shortlisted candidates on each campus (City, Moulsecoomb and Falmer) in the weeks commencing 27 October, 3 November and 11 November. We aim to notify successful candidates of interview details by 21 October. If you are invited to interview and there are reasonable adjustments we can make to ensure fair access, please email us with details as soon as possible.
Candidates who are successful in interview will be required to take part in mandatory in-person training (which will be scheduled during the week commencing 1 December on Moulsecoomb campus) before becoming an SRO Student Ambassador. Further information will be sent to you if you are offered the role.
