Qualifications

  • Ability to document, create and sign off test reports.
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, infrastructure cloud security, and common operating systems.
  • Previous experience delivering security testing services with a qualified CREST or Cyber Scheme tester credential.
  • Demonstrated NCSC CHECK Team Leader status in infrastructure (CCT-INF or CSTL-INF).
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws and legal frameworks for security testing.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake CHECK and non-CHECK security testing.
  • Travel to client sites to conduct testing engagements.
  • Research and develop new attack techniques to enhance testing capabilities.
  • Develop junior colleagues and promote team collaboration.
  • Propose mitigations for identified vulnerabilities and author reports for customers.
  • Scope, estimate, and bid on customer engagements as directed.

About the Role

Join QinetiQ as a Cyber Simulated Attack Specialist for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work on cutting‑edge defence technology, delivering both CHECK and non‑CHECK security testing for our clients.

You will act in a leadership capacity as an infrastructure CHECK team leader, managing and mentoring junior staff while maintaining high integrity and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake CHECK and non‑CHECK security testing
  • Travel to client sites to conduct testing engagements
  • Research and develop new attack techniques to enhance QinetiQ’s testing capability
  • Develop junior colleagues and promote team collaboration
  • Propose mitigations for identified vulnerabilities and author signed reports for customers
  • Scope, estimate and bid on customer engagements as directed
Essential Experience
  • Ability to document, create and sign off test reports
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, infrastructure cloud security and common operating systems
  • Previous experience delivering security testing services with a qualified CREST or Cyber Scheme tester credential

Position: 37 hours per week, based at any UK site. Hybrid working patterns available.
