Sports Coach / Sports Graduate – SEN Support Assistant
Location: Newhey
Start Date: January
Contract: Full-time
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of SEN including autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
• Use physical activity, movement and coaching strategies to engage and motivate learners.
• Provide 1:1 or small‑group support to help build confidence, self‑regulation and social skills.
• Assist the class teacher with behaviour support and personalised learning approaches.
• Help create a positive, structured and encouraging learning environment.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, helping them feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Qualifications & Experience

• Sports Coaches, Sports Graduates, PE Graduates or candidates with strong sporting backgrounds.
• Experience working with children or young people (coaching, youth work, school or SEN experience welcome).
• A calm, patient and resilient individual who can inspire through sport.
• Someone who can use creativity and physical activity to help pupils engage.
• A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
