Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant (SEMH) Location: Skelmersdale WN8 Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday Pay: £13.75 – £14. الذ‎£14.50 per hour

We are looking for a motivated and resilient Sports Coach to work within a Secondary SEMH provision in Skelmersdale. This role combines sports coaching with general Teaching Assistant responsibilities, supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning and re‑engage with education.

The successful candidate will have a strong presence, excellent behaviour management skills, and a passion for using sport and physical activity as a tool to positively engage young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering structured sports and physical activity sessions.
• Supporting pupils within the classroom as a general Teaching Assistant.
• Managing and de‑escalating challenging behaviour in line with school policy.
• Building positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress.
• Working with staff to help remove barriers to learning and promote positiveoxide outcomes.

Requirements:

• Experience working with secondary‑aged pupils.
• Strong behaviour management and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Background in sports coaching, youth work, or similar.
• Ability to engage and motivate pupils with SEMH needs.
• A proactive, consistent, and professional approach.
