Overview

Sports Assistant - SEMH school - Rochdale area. You’ll join a caring special‑needs provision in the heart of Rochdale supporting learners aged roughly 4 to 16, many of whom face social, emotional, and mental health challenges (SEMH). The setting spans multiple local sites and aims to build a nurturing atmosphere where every pupil feels safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Deliver a practical, well‑rounded physical education curriculum that encourages confidence, creativity, and resilience.
  • Work with indoors and outdoors facilities to design inclusive, active lessons and clubs that cater to individual needs and abilities.
  • Foster positive relationships and support pupils’ personal development through teamwork, perseverance, and healthy habits.
  • Support in other lessons as required.
Role Details
  • Role: Sports Assistant supporting children aged 11–16 from vulnerable backgrounds with SEHM (Social & Emotional health needs).
  • Start: ASAP
  • Pay: £95–£105/day (PAYE, based on experience)
  • Hours: Mon–Fri, 8:30am–3:30pm

What You Need
  • At least 3 months’ experience supporting young people in sports or in school, or ideally both
  • A CV covering your last 10 years
