Job description
Overview

Paragon Home Healthcare is seeking friendly, adaptable Live-in PAs/Carers to support a lovely, independent-minded lady with a high-level spinal cord injury (SCI).

As a live-in PA/carer for someone with a spinal cord injury, support isn’t about doing things for them—it’s about enabling them to live life their way. You’ll provide practical assistance when needed, while respecting their choices, routines, and independence.

The client lives in a spacious, well-equipped, adapted home in the Reading RG7 area and is supported by two live-in PAs/carers who work collaboratively to ensure consistent support while allowing each PA/carer ample rest. The role requires assisting with driving the client to local appointments, shopping, and outings; therefore a confident driver with a clean driver's licence is essential.

This role may involve occasional travel, including overseas trips, as well as assisting with driving to local appointments, shopping trips, and outings.

Personality Fit for This Role

You’ll enjoy this role if you:

  • Stay calm under pressure and adapt when plans change.
  • Value teamwork and collaborate closely with others.
  • Keep the home environment tidy and well-organised.
  • Are comfortable following an agreed care plan.
  • Have a clear, straightforward communication style.
  • Appreciate a balance of quiet time and friendly conversation.
Work Pattern

You’ll work a 2-week live-in assignment, followed by 2 weeks off. After your rest period, you may choose to work with another client for 1 week or join our Standby Rota (working from home).

We provide full spinal injury care training to ensure you’re confident and well-prepared.

Job type: Live-in

Pay rate: £140.00 per day

Food Allowance: £6 per day (eligibility applies)
