Speech & Language Therapy Assistant

We're launching a brand-new community Speech & Language Therapy service, and we're looking for a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our team and help shape how rehabilitation services are delivered.

You’ll support clinicians with their caseload, seeing people in their own homes, care homes, and outpatient settings across the southwest of Hampshire. Our patients include those recovering from strokes, people living with Parkinson’s disease or dementia, and frail or older individuals who need support with communication or swallowing.

Your role will involve supporting and working under supervision and guidance of a qualified speech and language therapist, implementing programmes of care for those with communication and swallowing difficulties, supporting with care plans to improve safety, independence, and quality of life, and you’ll work with colleagues to ensure that care is delivered where it’s needed most.

This is a Monday-to-Friday service with no weekend, night, or on-call work. Main duties of the job
  • To work with patients under the supervision and guidance of a qualified Speech and Language Therapist implementing programmes of care for individuals and groups with communication and swallowing difficulties, in a range of hospital and community settings.
  • To provide administration and clerical support for SLTs working within the adult service.
  • To create and develop therapy tools and resources as requested.
