A leading healthcare provider in Crawley seeks a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join their Pre-School Complex Needs team. This part-time role involves working with children with various communication needs, providing clinical support, and fostering their development. Ideal candidates should have experience in educational or clinical settings and knowledge of child development. The position offers a salary between £27,485 to £30,162 pro rata.
The Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service in the Central area of West Sussex is looking to recruit a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (Band 4) to join our Pre-School Complex Needs team for part time hours - 18.75 hours per week.
You will have experience of working with children in a clinical or educational setting. You will have knowledge of child development and experience of making and recording observations of children learning, development and behaviour. You will have a specific interest in children's communication and how it can be supported. You will be able to work as part of a team and independently and will be willing to learn new skills.
The successful candidate will be join our large Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service working with children with complex development and communication needs and their families to support their interaction, communication, language and play skills.
To be clinically responsibility for a caseload of patients who have been delegated by a registered member of staff.
To progress and manage own caseload of patients with freedom to act within structured parameters.
To have the ability to use initiative and feedback to relevant registered member of staff.
To provide treatment and care programmes to clients on an individual or group basis.
To report and document variances in a patient's condition or planned pathway of care to the registered member of staff.
To maintain high standards of clinical care as defined by the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.
Work autonomously within the MDT or service in the delivery of planned rehabilitation, interventions and health care programmes.
To assess patients within an agreed caseload under the direction of the therapist, using a predetermined protocol.
