Job Details

Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist

Location: Bankside College – Worcestershire WR8 0AD

Salary: £33,000 pro rata (dependent on experience)

Salary notes: basic grade SALT from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+, Highly specialist from £48,000+

Hours: 15 hours per week, Flexible on which 2 days are selected

Contract: Permanent (Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)

Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

About the Role

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Bankside College school. Our Clinical Teams maintain a person-centred, empowering approach, putting pupils at the forefront. We strive for excellence and are a leading service provider in the UK. We are seeking a therapist who shares our vision to use innovative approaches to enhance outcomes for pupils.

Location: Bankside College – Worcestershire WR8 0AD – Bankside College forms part of our Options Autism brand, an independent specialist day school supporting children and young people aged 16-24.

Essential Criteria
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • 1-2 years experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting
  • Some relevant experience engaging and working with individuals with complex and diverse communication profiles
  • Some knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
  • Experience of multidisciplinary working in a range of settings
  • Experience communicating with/working with families/relatives and carers
  • Interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice
  • Strong relationship-building, analytical and judgmental skills
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Competent in core SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
  • Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types, and ability to formulate support plans based on needs
  • Knowledge of legislation and implications for clinical practice and professional management
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications
  • Full valid UK driving licence and access to a car
Desirable
  • Understanding of sensory and motor differences affecting communication
  • Some understanding of the relationship between arousal levels and communication
