Speech and Language Teaching Assistant (Primary) - Ealing

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Speech and Language Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Ealing. This is a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP, providing specialist 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with speech, language, and communication difficulties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous SEN support experience, particularly in speech and language strategies, who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

About the Role
  • Work 1:1 with a KS2 pupil with identified speech and language needs.
  • Support the implementation of tailored interventions such as Bucket Time, Box Clever, phonics activities, and gross/fine motor programmes.
  • Assist the child with classroom learning, ensuring they are fully engaged and able to access the curriculum.
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet the pupil's individual needs.
  • Encourage the development of social communication skills, confidence, and independence.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external speech and language therapists to deliver consistent support.
  • Track and monitor progress, feeding back to staff and parents regularly.
About You
  • Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or SEN Support Worker.
  • A strong background in supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
  • Knowledge of specific interventions and strategies (e.g. Bucket Time, Box Clever, phonics, fine/gross motor activities).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience to provide consistent support.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, able to adapt strategies to suit the child's needs.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them succeed.
