The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor with a passion for Oncology to join our dynamic and highly skilled team. Based at the Lingen Davies Centre, the successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to our Oncology patients.

This position includes dedicated sessions in the Chemotherapy Day Unit, Outpatient Clinics, and the Assessment Bay, providing direct patient contact and meaningful clinical experience. Working closely under the guidance of our experienced Oncology Consultant team, the post holder will be supported in developing their expertise and advancing their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Main duties of the job
  • Expected to cover the Chemotherapy Day Unit and Assessment Bay Area, seeing and assessing unwell patients.
  • Providing support to the junior ward doctors.
  • Working closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists.
  • Supporting outpatient clinics.
  • Cross cover you colleagues as per operational needs.
  • To develop enhanced clinical skills, especially in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients.
  • To have excellent team-working skills with the abilities and professional attitude to work well in a multi-professional team.
  • To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners.
  • To follow patients throughout their clinical pathways.
