Seeking Resilient and Experienced Support Staff for Specialist Settings in Salford

We are actively seeking Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Mentors, and Behaviour Support Mentors to fill key support roles for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within the Salford area. Your expertise in managing complex behaviour is crucial for this full-time opportunity.

The Ideal Candidate Must:

  • Possess crucial, proven expertise in behaviour management and the ability to confidently cope with complex behaviour needs.
  • Have a minimum of 6 months of UK experience.
  • Demonstrate previous experience in either:
    • 2 or more SEMH, PRU, or Alternative Provision settings.
    • Or, more than 2 years of continuous experience working in a PRU/SEMH setting.
  • Be reliable, highly committed to career development, and genuinely attentive and engaged with both students and staff.
  • Be available to work 5 days a week.
  • Ideally hold a Level 2+ UK Teaching Assistant qualification.

Essential Requirements:

  • A full UK Driving Licence and access to a car (essential for accessing local settings).
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students, focusing on emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • Implement individual behaviour plans and safety protocols effectively and consistently.
  • Work alongside teaching staff to adapt activities and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Monitor student attendance, well-being, and progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Help maintain a calm, orderly, and supportive learning environment in the setting.
  • Show commitment to professional standards and continuous improvement.
