Role: Specialist Speech and Language Therapist at Pengwern College

Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours, part-time considered

Salary/Benefits: Up to £44,967 per annum

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) looking to join our multidisciplinary team?

This unique position involves delivering SLT services and supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), often with complex needs and challenging behaviors.

We offer a competitive salary, excellent training, full induction, clinical supervision, CPD, and developmental opportunities. You will receive full support from our onsite multidisciplinary team and participate in routine service meetings with companywide Speech and Language Therapists.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess communication needs in various environments and implement high and low tech AAC systems based on assessments.
  • Provide functional targets and recommendations to enhance daily communication.
  • Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to support therapeutic approaches.
  • Respond to referrals and maintain an inclusive communication environment.
  • Complete audits and utilize the RCSLT 5 good communication standards.
  • Contribute to service development and work effectively within the SLT team.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or postgraduate diploma in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
  • Registered with the HCPC.
  • Experience working with individuals with Learning Disabilities and/or ASD, preferably with AAC approaches.
