Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit 2.0 whole time equivalent Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to our well established Speech and Language Therapy team which provides a service across Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire. This post is for anyone interested in working with children with a range of communication needs within mainstream nurseries and schools. The post will be based at Peeler House, Hessle. We are excited to consider this as a remote post - please note, there is a requirement to occasionally come into Trust HQ, for example to collect equipment and to attend essential training sessions.

Main duties of the job
  • Prioritise, plan and manage a specialist caseload, delegating tasks to others as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate specialist clinical skills and provide support and advice re the delivery of care in partnership with children, relatives, staff, managers, and externally with other agencies.
  • Provide high quality assessments and treatment plans which are evidence based.
  • Maintain, as part of continual professional development, up to date clinical specialist knowledge/skills.
  • Provide day to day clinical supervision for SLT assistants, students and other co-workers as required.
  • Provide training within own area of specialism to other professionals and carers.

Qualifications
