Primary responsibilities
  • Provide clinical pharmacy support across four outpatient treatment areas, six inpatient wards and a clinical research facility.
  • Attend consultant ward rounds, advise multidisciplinary teams, manage admissions and discharges, and conduct audits and research.
  • Develop and support the hospital’s chemotherapy electronic prescribing system, including writing and validating protocols.
  • Lead and mentor a band seven cancer pharmacist team and potentially manage some staff under the principal pharmacist for cancer services.
  • Support the in‑house compounding system and contribute to the design of the new off‑site licensed aseptic unit.
  • Participate in clinical trials, including phase 1, and contribute to recruitment and patient care within the centre.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
  • Masters Degree (or equivalent) in Pharmacy.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

  • Demonstrated advanced competencies in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Advanced Pharmacy Framework (Stage 1 or Stage 2).
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of clinical pharmacy services within a specialty setting.
  • Experience with audit, evaluation and guideline development.
  • Teaching or tutoring experience and ability to supervise others.
  • Change management and leadership experience.
