Job description
Vacancy at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

A physiotherapist with a specialism in Spinal Cord Injury is required to join our major trauma team for a secondment of approximately 12 months.

Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialised acute and early rehabilitation on the trauma wards, focusing primarily on spinal cord injury with additional care for major trauma patients.
  • Provide outreach support for spinal injury patients within CUH and local district general hospitals.
  • Support and work alongside other members of the trauma ward physiotherapy team, ensuring the delivery of the highest standard of service.
  • Lead the team in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the physiotherapy service on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • Be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, including consultants, specialist nurses and physiotherapists.
  • Develop a long‑term vision for the spinal cord injury rehabilitation hub physiotherapy team and shape the service accordingly.
Qualifications & Eligibility
  • Active, full‑time, permanent contract only – cannot be offered to individuals on a Student visa unless:
    • They have applied for a Graduate visa;
    • They have completed their course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date;
    • The Trust sponsors them as a Skilled Worker and they complete studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date.
  • Internal applicants on permanent contracts may apply for a secondment or fixed‑term contract, provided they have line manager approval.
  • Applicants from the Armed Forces are welcome.
