A healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Specialist Physiotherapist to provide comprehensive therapy and support to patients in a community setting. The role requires autonomous practice and includes responsibilities such as managing complex cases, offering training to junior staff, and actively contributing to service development. Specialist Physiotherapist role with Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Closing date: 09 October 2025.
Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to patients and their carers. The caseload will include a wide range of acute and chronic care cases, many having complex disabilities and needs. Some services will also include terminal care cases. The post holder will work across all areas of Social Care having responsibility for delivering a range of interventions including; information, advice, safeguarding and full case management as well as environmental adaptation, equipment provision and the use of a re-abling approach. Additionally, therapists will work closely with housing agencies to make recommendations and/or arrangements for major environmental adaptations and/or to facilitate alternative housing solutions. Be part of a multidisciplinary team working in a community setting including rapid response, ensuring that therapy input is integrated into the patient\'s overall care plan. Work as an autonomous practitioner working without direct supervision and, at times, lone working. Provide supervision, training and support to junior staff and students. Work with managers to develop the service in line with patient need and trust wide developments, and to help provide an equitable service across the Trust. Some services are currently required to participate in on call and weekend working.
The post holder will fulfil all tasks and work as part of a team. To meet the needs of the service, the post holder may be required to work in other areas as appropriate as directed by the line manager.
18 hours per week. Evening & weekend working will be required on a rota pattern. Plus occasional Bank Holiday days.
