Overview

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Paediatric occupational therapist to join our small friendly team. We would like someone who is passionate about working with children and young people, in outpatient and community settings, including patient homes, early years settings and schools (mainstream and specialist). We provide care that is evidence based and delivered with the child and family at the centre. If you want to work as a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist as part of a multidisciplinary team with physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and support workers, please get in touch. The role is open to those who have some NHS paediatric experience alongside transferable skills and attributes from other roles.

Responsibilities
  • Assess children’s and young people’s needs for further occupational therapy interventions and equipment.
  • Deliver interventions and provide specialist equipment for children and young people.
  • Work flexibly and in an agile way to best meet the needs of the caseload.
  • Follow clinical pathways and procedures relating to the service.
  • Contribute to service governance and development.
  • Fulfil statutory SEND responsibilities.
  • Act within professional boundaries and access professional development.
  • Ensure Occupational Therapy interventions are delivered in line with professional guidelines and evidence.
  • Contribute to team, MDT service, OT professional and AHP governance and development.
  • Respond to and escalate issues, risks, adverse events, concerns and complaints as appropriate to scope of practice.

If you are offered a position which requires a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost from your first full month’s salary. This is a condition of your employment. In applying for a post that requires a DBS check you are confirming that you have read and understood the DBS Privacy Policy for Enhanced and Standard Checks. You are encouraged to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £16 cost per year.
