As a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist for Achieving for Children you will provide occupational therapy assessment, intervention and advice to children, young people and their families to support their development and participation in activities of daily living and access to learning.
The Achieving for Children Paediatric Occupational Therapy Service is part of the Integrated Team for Children with Disabilities Service based at the Moor Lane Centre in Chessington, funded jointly by the Royal Borough of Kingston and NHS Kingston. The team provides a service to children and young people, aged 0 - 19, experiencing functional difficulties as a result of neurological or developmental difficulties.
As a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist for Achieving for Children, you willcarry a specialist caseload of children and young people with a variety of complex physical, learning and social needs and be responsible for writing reports for Education Health Care Plans (EHCP) and multidisciplinary assessments/reviews.
The role will involve rotations and splits across all areas of our community services which include: Special schools (Bedelsford/Dysart and St Philips); Community based work (early years clinic/ mainstream schools, SRP's and nurseries and special supported nurseries in Kingston) and Special resources provisions in Richmond. The role will cover children and young people from birth to 18 years of age and 19 if in one of the special schools.

As a specialist paediatric Occupational Therapist you will be an experienced, autonomous practitioner whois able to work in a range of settings to provide a high quality paediatric occupational therapy service. The post holder will have experience of working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support children and young peoples occupational therapy needs and they will be experienced in providing specialist advice to other disciplines.
The Occupational Therapist will carry a specialist caseload of children and young people with a variety of complex physical, learning and social needs and be responsible for writing reports for Education Health Care Plans and multidisciplinary assessments/reviews.
