A leading healthcare provider in Salisbury is seeking a Specialist Medical Laboratory Assistant for full-time work in the Point of Care Section. You will maintain laboratory practices across various departments and receive essential training. The ideal candidate should have GCSE qualifications, data entry skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. The Laboratory Medicine department currently has a vacancy for a Specialist Medical Laboratory Assistant in the Point of Care Section. We are looking for a friendly and cheerful person, who is practical, has an interest in science and would be comfortable working with and training a variety of staffing groups across the hospital. You will be based in Laboratory Medicine but the role involves visiting and supporting point of care services in clinical areas across the Trust.
The role is full time 37.5 hours per week , although part-time options would be considered.
The post-holder will be supported with the necessary training and will be required to maintain competency as required for the role. Previous medical laboratory experience would be desirable, but full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will be literate, numerate and have excellent keyboard skills.

The post holder will be based in Laboratory Medicine and work under both direct and indirect supervision on the wards and in the departments that use POCT devices.
To learn and maintain good laboratory practice in the interests of the departmental commitment to provide an efficient, safe service to service users and ultimately to the patient.
