Job description

The Community Dental Service provides dental treatment for those patients who have difficulty in obtaining treatment from other services. It provides a dental public health and treatment service acting in a complimentary way to the hospital and general practitioner services. The provision of comprehensive oral health care for client groups in line with the Service's contractual requirements. To provide specialist care and advice to those groups we are commissioned to see following integrated care pathways and support colleagues to do likewise.

Responsibilities

• Support the Clinical Lead, Service Manager and Dental Team, in service development for all areas of SCD or Paediatric Dentistry.
• Undertake thorough examination and assessment of patients and use the most appropriate restorative, periodontal and surgical treatments.
• Plan and manage care for a range of patients including those where there are complex medical comorbidities or patients require involvement with other professionals/carers to resolve complex patient management issues.
