Job description
Overview

Are you interested in nutritional support, keen to work within a specialist oncology setting and enjoy multidisciplinary working? An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated dietitian to join our team in Chelsea. You will have a caseload of both in-patients and outpatient clinics, with exposure to patients with a variety of cancers (including head and neck and gastro-intestinal) at all aspects of their cancer journey.

Responsibilities
  • Provide an effective and flexible nutrition and dietetic service to in- and out-patients.
  • Monitor and review nutritional care plans against outcome measures and adjust care plans as appropriate to achieve goals.
  • Communicate highly complex, sensitive information in an understandable form to patients (diverse populations), carers, managers and colleagues using negotiation, persuasion, motivation and counselling skills (e.g., potential benefits of artificial nutrition in palliative care).
  • Accurately record all assessments and interventions in dietetic records, medical and nursing notes in line with trust policy and professional standards.
  • Be involved in service development within a specialist environment and collaborate with experienced specialist dietitians and teaching.
Qualifications and Experience
