Job summary

A specialist SEN staffing agency is looking for an experienced professional to provide 1:1 support for high-needs ASD pupils in Westminster. You will implement low-demand strategies to aid engagement and transitions while collaborating with teachers. Applicants must have proven experience with ASD, strong communication skills, and the right to work in the UK. Qualifications

  • Proven experience with ASD high-needs pupils and/or PDA profiles.
  • Strong behaviour management rooted in empathy, not confrontation.
  • Excellent consistency, reliability, and communication.
  • Up-to-date Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply).
  • Right to work in the UK.

Required Education
  • Postgraduate qualification or accredited training in SEND (e.g. National Award for SEN Coordination, Autism Education Trust dyslexia / SpLD or SEMH specialism).
  • Proficiency in alternative / augmentative communication methods (Makaton, PECS, AAC).
  • Using evidence-based interventions such as TEACCH, SCERTS or Positive Behaviour in Team-Teach MAPA or similar de-escalation and safe-handling with assistive ed-tech tools and adaptive software.
