Job description
Spanish Teacher - Bring Some Sunshine to Blackpool!

Are you a dynamic and fluent Spanish Teacher (QTS) looking for a fresh opportunity in the UK's most iconic seaside town? We are seeking an inspiring linguist to join a forward-thinking MFL department at a respected Secondary School in Blackpool.

If you have the "spark" to transform a classroom into a hub of Hispanic culture and the skills to motivate students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), we want to hear from you!

The Opportunity: Inspiring Linguists by the Sea

A fantastic opening has arisen for a proactive QTS Spanish Teacher to join a supportive secondary setting in Blackpool. Whether you are looking for a long-term maternity cover, a fixed-term contract, or regular supply work, your role will be vital in helping students broaden their horizons and master a second language.

In a town known for its energy and resilience, you will play a key role in raising aspirations and ensuring that language learning is accessible, rewarding, and academically rigorous for all.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Engaging Language Delivery: Plan and teach interactive Spanish lessons, focusing on the four key pillars: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing.
  • GCSE Success: Use your expertise to guide Year 11 students through their final assessments, with a particular focus on improving confidence in phonetics and oral exams.
  • Cultural Connection: Use authentic resources-from Hispanic music to news and film-to make the language relevant and exciting for Blackpool students.
  • Progress Tracking: Provide clear, constructive feedback and use assessment data to identify and support students who need extra help.
  • Positive Presence: Maintain high standards of behavior and classroom management, fostering a respectful environment where students feel safe to practice their speaking skills.
What We Are Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential, along with a degree in Spanish or a related linguistic field.
  • Linguistic Fluency: High-level proficiency in Spanish, with a strong grasp of grammar and tenses (Present, Preterite, and Future).
  • Secondary Experience: A proven track record of teaching the Spanish curriculum at KS3 and KS4.
  • Adaptability: The ability to join a new department mid-term and build immediate rapport with Blackpool's diverse student body.
  • DBS Check: A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to apply for one).
Why Choose Blackpool with Randstad?
  • Competitive Pay: Daily rates from £150 - £220, paid weekly.
  • Unique Setting: Work in a vibrant coastal community with iconic landmarks and a heart of gold.
  • Total Flexibility: Enjoy the freedom of contract work while gaining experience in top-tier Lancashire schools.
  • Referral Rewards: Earn £300 through our "Refer a Friend" scheme for every successful placement!
