Job description

The Project Procurement Engineer will lead procurement activities for the Te2v Space Imaging division. They contribute to the successful delivery of ESA, NASA and Commercial space missions, procuring cutting edge technologies, used in space satellites. The role sits within a dynamic delivery team who collaborate to overcome complex technical and commercial challenges in pursuit of delivering world class products. Ensuring that procurement is evaluated, efficient, cost effective and aligned to operational need.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct procurement activities in collaboration with Space Imaging Programmes, Projects and Production Teams.
  • Utilise as appropriate subcontracts, supply contracts, quantity contracts and purchase orders to align supplier deliverables with Space Imaging requirements.
  • Maintain E2V's business system to ensure tactical communication & control of supplier deliverables, i.e. P2P and S2P systems
  • Control and deliver the sourcing strategy for a selected group of technical materials/commodities ensuring near and forward operational alignment for Space Imaging
  • Actively manage Space Imaging's supplier portfolio inclusive of Identifying, benchmarking and selecting new suppliers to deliver your sourcing strategy.
  • Optimise the supplier base to leverage optimal cost/supply for Space Imaging
  • Deploy engineering best practice techniques to ensure that components are designed to optimise their manufacturing ease through out the entire Supply Chain
  • Establish collaborative relationships that deliver an effective and efficient service to internal/external customers and suppliers.
  • Facilitate resolution to supplier quality, serviceability, and performance related issues quickly to avoid repetition of issues.
  • Utilise Relationships, Market Intelligence and Value Engineering actions to achieve a competitive differentiator.
  • Manage supplier performance and quality using appropriate KPI's and development plans.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience of evolving, negotiating and agreeing contractual requirements and collaboration frameworks between internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Preferably knowledge and experience of Space Imaging technology, including CMOS & CCD sensors, wafer processing, communication systems, complex electronics, vacuum technology and metal components.
  • Experience of working within a demanding, low volume, highly complex, high value project environment. Ideally within the Space or Electronics Industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP ERP/MRP (or similar) would be highly advantageous.
  • A good understanding of technical/clean room manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of procurement project and MRP production methods.
  • Knowledge of wider supply chain, materials management, demand forecasting and engineering change management principles.
  • Strong excel / data management skills.
  • Knowledge of value engineering and cost down methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of supplier quality management techniques.
  • MS Office proficient - Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio, PowerPoint.
  • Global travel may be required (10% of time).
