Job description

Sous Chef - Kendrew Barracks
  • £15 per hour + Compass Benefits
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 5 days over 7
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all operational aspects of the Kitchen and staff in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Ensure all kitchen staff prepare and present quality food, maintaining the Company Standard for all final products.
  • Ensure all kitchen staff adhere to proper food and hygiene standards.
  • Lead by example to keep the kitchen presentable at all times.
  • Provide a hands-on management approach and lead by example.
  • Participate in recruitment processes, including interviews and trials for potential Second Chefs, Trainee Chefs, and Kitchen Porters.
  • Communicate regularly with the Head Chef regarding stock levels.
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to perform manual handling, including lifting and moving stock and equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
