Overview

This is a temporary Sous Chef role at Avery Healthcare, a leading provider of luxury elderly care homes in the UK. The role involves supporting the Head Chef in leading a culinary team that provides high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals for residents.

Job responsibilities
  • Support the Head Chef in leading a culinary team to provide a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality culinary service, contributing to residents’ well-being and achieving within budget.
  • Prepare modified diets that look appealing and are well-balanced in accordance with IDDSI guidance.
  • Supervise and direct the work of culinary staff, providing instruction and demonstrations to unqualified staff on simple food preparation activities.
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met and support the team in understanding the Avery Food Safety Management System.

Qualifications

  • Be adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
