Job summary

A catering recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Sous Chef for an academy in Wembley. This role involves cooking school meals, maintaining hygiene standards, and assisting in training kitchen staff. Job description

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef for an academy based in Wembley.

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Term Time - 35 hours per week paying £19.22 per hour PAYE

Key Responsibilities
  • To be in charge for the cooking of school meals with the direction of Catering Manager.
  • To be responsible for weekly stock take and ordering from our dominated suppliers, and report.
  • Kitchen cleaning and cleaning of heavy and light equipment used during the day.
  • Maintenance of good standard of hygiene in kitchen and follow the HACCP's policy.
  • Assist Catering Manager in training new staff in cooking methods and methods of work in kitchen.
  • Assist with the planning, costing of menus and ordering of foodstuff.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Experience in a similar role within a school or the education sector (desirable).
  • Able to contribute to overall school behaviour records and provide feedback.
  • Strong communication skills with adults and youths.
  • Highly organised and efficient; capable of multi-tasking and working at pace.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role.
Qualification Criteria
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • GCSE level Math's and English or equivalent level qualification.
  • Relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene qualifications desirable.
