Job description

Location: Central London

Type: Locum / Ongoing Contract

Hours: Full-time preferred (minimum 3 days per week)

Shifts: Standard short days

Rates: Open to Negotiation

Overview

We are currently partnering with a leading central London hospital seeking an experienced Sonographer to join their imaging department. The hospital can accommodate full-time availability but is also open to candidates who can offer at least three days per week. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a well-supported, modern department with a broad and interesting caseload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations in line with departmental protocols
  • Provide clear, accurate imaging reports
  • Work collaboratively with consultants, radiologists, and wider clinical teams
  • Ensure patient safety, dignity, and comfort throughout all procedures
  • Maintain professional and clinical standards at all times
Core Modalities (Essential or Highly Desirable)

The department is open to a wide range of experience, including:

  • Obstetrics
  • Gynaecology
  • General abdominal
  • Renal
  • Testes
  • Thyroid
  • Neck
  • Hernias
  • Soft tissue / lumps and bumps
  • Upper and lower limb studies
  • DVT
Additional Desirable Experience
  • Paediatrics
  • MSK
  • Prior experience using EPIC (advantageous but not essential)
Requirements
  • Relevant ultrasound qualification (PGCert, DMU, CASE-accredited or equivalent)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • HCPC or appropriate professional registration (if required for your modality mix)
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
Rates

The hospital has not confirmed a set rate but has advised that they can be flexible, provided it fits within their internal budget range.
