Job summary

A mid-sized UK technology firm in Leeds is seeking a hands-on Solutions Architect for a 12-month contract to support their transition from B2B to D2C. The role involves designing scalable solutions for customer-facing systems and working closely with the Head of Technology. Key qualifications include experience in ecommerce, knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, and the ability to work independently. The position offers a rate of £650-£750 and requires 2-3 days on-site work.

  • Define architecture to support the B2B → B2C transition.
  • Design customer-facing systems (ecommerce/ordering, CRM workflows).
  • Produce HLDs/LLDs and provide architectural direction.

Overview

Our client, a mid‑sized UK business, is undergoing a major shift from a traditional B2B model to a direct‑to‑consumer (D2C) operation. They are refreshing their technology stack to support new customer‑facing journeys, improved order management, and better integration with field/installation teams. With limited in‑house engineering, they need a hands‑on Solutions Architect who can design practical, scalable solutions and guide delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define architecture to support the B2B → B2C transition.
  • Design customer‑facing systems (ecommerce/ordering, CRM workflows, communication).
  • Shape solutions for scheduling, field service, and installation teams.
  • Integrate new digital front‑ends with existing Microsoft‑based systems (including Dynamics).
  • Produce HLDs/LLDs and provide architectural direction during implementation.
  • Work closely with the Head of Technology in a lean technical environment.
Essential
  • Experience designing solutions for ecommerce or D2C businesses.
  • Background in small or mid‑sized organisations (not enterprise).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and broader Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Experience supporting field service or installation workflows.
  • Able to work independently and communicate well with non‑technical teams.
  • Experience with inventory/scheduling/MRP or similar operational systems.
  • Previous involvement in digital transformation projects.
