As part of this journey, we’re looking for a driven and forward-thinking Planning & Property Solicitor to join our high-performing Legal Team. This role is your chance to make a tangible impact—supporting critical infrastructure projects that will define the energy landscape for generations to come.

Your work will directly enable the development of a more resilient, sustainable energy network—one that meets the demands of tomorrow.

What you’ll do
  • Lead on securing land contracts and planning consents for high-profile energy network development projects
  • Deliver expert legal advice across a range of complex property and planning matters, collaborating and advising senior leaders across ScottishPower and the Iberdrola Group
  • Drive innovation in legal processes and contribute to best practice development
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams including Land & Planning, and external stakeholders
What you’ll bring

We’re looking for a solicitor with:

  • Solid experience in leading or supporting energy development, infrastructure, or commercial property transactions
  • Expertise in Options, Leases, Servitudes, Dispositions, and related agreements
  • A confident, client-focused approach to legal advisory work
  • Strong communication skills and commercial awareness
  • The ability to prioritise, manage a fast-paced workload and deliver under pressure
Why now?

This is an exciting time to join ScottishPower. With major investment underway and a clear vision for a net-zero future, your contribution will be visible, valued, and vital. You’ll be part of a collaborative legal team that’s shaping policy, enabling progress, and making a real difference.

What’s in it for you

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.

At ScottishPower, we believe it’s the little things we do in life that make a big difference. From helping you look after your family’s wellbeing, save for your future and take personal steps for climate action – our benefits are designed to help you do just that - so that you have everything you need to take care of your world – today and tomorrow.
